Raised in the central valley of California, I find myself very fortunate to have grown up in an area enriched with agriculture. Having not grown up in a family with an agricultural background, I am beyond grateful to have had opportunities to become involved in 4-H and FFA. These agricultural-education based organizations ignited my passion for agriculture. Before, I had no idea the cotton grown in the field behind my house would become the clothes I wear, and that the bees my friend raised would produce the honey in my tea.
This new knowledge was the starting point for my passion of bridging the gap between producers and consumers. Not everyone grows up in a rural community like I did, and this drives my ambitions to continue transparent communication between producers, consumers and policy makers.
